Not So Silent Night

Thursday night Dan and I actually cooked a meal! We had delicious chicken burritos. Dan is cooking in his "can you see me on earth if you are in space?" shirt. Its a Norwegian thing... :D


Friday I received an e-mail from the company I interviewed with saying that they felt some of the other applicants were a better fit. I am very happy that I learned so much about their interviewing process.

I went to Not So Silent Night and it was so fun! Paramore was already playing but I didn't miss my favorite songs. Of course they play those towards the end! Here is a photo I took with my cell phone (cameras weren't allowed) from the ground floor. I love the flare from the lights.


We moved up to the second floor to relax and enjoy from the seats. I felt so lucky to see Jimmy Eat World perform. I love their music and they put so much energy into their live performance that you don't pick up from their CDs. If you haven't heard their newest CD Chase the Light, you ought to check them out.


Angels & Airwaves performed as well and Tom sounded like a motivational speaker. I couldn't help but crack a joke about being at some conference instead of a concert. I love the lines in this picture.


I got some fun goodies in the mail this week and I blame Michelle. :) She did such an amazing job with her guest design work for Elle''s studio I just had to get some yummies for myself. And since I was already shopping at etsy I thought I'd share the love with Every Jot & Tittle too. They arrived super fast.


Speaking of fun stuff in the mail, these amazing ornaments arrived from Australia, Singapore, and Iowa this week. I adore them so.


And here are my retro inspired ornaments that I mailed out to Singapore, Kansas, and Northern California. I got my inspiration from looking at Christmas ornaments year round. I'm going through a bright phase. I have one listed for sale here.


Saturday night I made a bracelet while watching the movie Waitress. It is a very inspiring movie for women to start their lives out fresh! Keri Russell and Andy Griffith are such incredible actors and actresses!

Lisa special ordered a glass bead, Swarovski crystal, and sterling silver bracelet for her mom. Here is the finished product. I really think she's secretly ordering it for herself since her favorite color is turquoise. Don't you adore the clasp?


After work on Sunday, I drove over to Walnut Creek for my Grandma's annual tree trimming party. I timed it right so I arrived for dinner and had a wonderful time being with the family. From left to right: Uncle Harry, my Dad, my Mom, me, my Grandma (I visit her every Tuesday), Aunt Sandy, and my cousin Kelley. The wonderful next door neighbor, Roger, took the photo for us.

This is Friends week

I am addicted to Flickr. I love to leave positive comments for people and I get so inspired by seeing through many different perspectives. It makes me want to travel so much more!

Thursday night Dan and I went to Lisa's new house for home made pizza. It was absolutely delicious!


Lisa was a wonderful hostess. I loved how they decorated the house. The living room was my favorite because of all the colors. All of Lisa's room mates are a blast!


Yesterday I planned to finish my wire wrapped necklace with Kelly. Jenna thought she was coming over to scrapbook so she got all of her stuff out (second time to scrap).


Jenny called me and said she was Pacifica, so she joined in the creativity. I was so happy that I'm seeing nearly all of my local girlfriends in the same week. Incredible!

I love taking photos as everyone already knows. Jenny likes to draw so I gave her my art journal. Nothing wrong with having a guest artist in it, right? :)

Kelly finished her necklace and we are so proud of how beautiful it turned out. I think she's a great model!

I finished mine as well. I took the picture here at work and the lighting is not great, but I was too excited about it and wanted to share. I feel like I've grown in jewelry making now that I have learned how to wire wrap. I also expanded my color choices and feel great about them. The focal bead is a piece I made with a blowtorch (lampwork) last year. I was so happy when the class instructor on Monday complemented it!

Wire wrapping

Kelly and I went to a Wire wrapping class on Monday night and we had a great time. I don't have a finished product from the class since we spent the whole time on technique, and not on design. Hopefully I'll have something to show after Friday when I have time to work on it. We had the pleasure of going to the Palo Alto Creamery and sharing a banana split after!


I visited the Pacifica Rotary Club yesterday bright and early at 7:15am. I was invited to let them know that I graduated and tell them I'm searching for a job. I gave them my etsy link so hopefully they'll pass on that info to friends and family. It was really nice to see everyone.

Yesterday was also East Bay Day. I went for a quick shop at the Scrapbook Territory in Berkeley and bought some really colorful ribbon. Did my weekly visit to my grandma in Walnut Creek (read lots of Harry Potter), and the went to Danville to visit with Dan's father and his family. Read more Harry Potter, helped Gabriella scrapbook, and jumped on the trampoline some more.

I found a few job listings to apply for, so I'll be occupied with that for most of today. Enjoy the beautiful weather!

Friday the 13th

I had the pleasure of going to the beach and getting some sun yesterday. It felt so wonderful to be outside listening to the waves. I feel so revitalized after hanging out with Jenna and Sara.

My cousin Dominique has a birthday coming up on Monday and I felt like making her a card using my photo corners. I figure that I should use the stuff that I make!



While I was making this I realized that I had put together a bunch of stuff to make a Valentine's card way back in January. I was in a card making mood since I'm waiting on a few photos for the current lo that I'm working on. This is scraplifted from Melissa.


I decided to restring a vintage necklace that my mom purchased for me at a killer garage sale. I had cleaned them thoroughly about a year ago and finally put it back together last night. Right now it is an empire style necklace. I'm thinking I might take it apart again and make it into the double stranded choker it was when I originally got it. What do you think?

I love summer!

I had a relaxing evening watching fireworks and taking a ton of photographs. I realized that I never take photos of the people watching them so that was my goal for myself this year.























For dessert we had delicious peach pie from Ikeda's and had a blast with the whipped cream.



I listed a necklace on etsy. I really think the composition of the item is way more important than what the item actually is. As long as it's eye catching people will look.
