Youer than you-Scrap Mojo

Challenge #11 is posted over at Scrap Mojo! It's Dr. Seuss month and the girls did such an amazing job! I haven't had time for much of anything so I still have a bit of embellishing that I want to do on this. I'm a goof ball and I'm not afraid to hide it. These photos are pure evidence of that.

Speaking of Dr. Seuss, I am dying to see the movie Horton Hears a Who. I bet its amazing. Anyone had the pleasure of seeing it yet? Its just a matter of priorities. Today has been a 12 hour work day not including almost 3 hours of driving.

I was so happy to sit and watch Enchanted last night. What a funny movie! I love it when a company is big enough to poke fun at their previous work (amazing as it is). If you haven't seen it yet, check it out. Just remember, it is a Disney movie! Dan bought A Bee Movie the other week and that's on my next to be watched list. Can't wait to see Marlon's name in the credits. I know he worked on it and I hope he made it into the credits.

I went scrapbook shopping on my lunch break on Monday and I went crazy! Its been a long time since I've really shopped that way. I finally grabbed some American Crafts 12x12 D ring albums. I can't wait to move my 2007 and 2008 pages into them. It was a little crazy because I only had a few minutes to shop at the Scrapbook Island 0nce I got there. I'm still unfamiliar with the area so I got disoriented. :D I'll post pictures of my purchases when I get home when the sun is still out.

Happy mail has been arriving a lot lately. I got in two orders of lovely Fancy Pants and Pink Paislee from EBB Creations, as well as lots of stuff from Everything Scrappn. Now I just need to sit and create!

I decorated my cubicle with a little bit of Hambly too. Really just put two overlays up with pushpins.

Happy Birthday Kelly!

The March EBB Kits are here. This is the wonderful main dish kit and I'm totally in love with it! It features the yummy new Manhattan line by Autumn Leaves. I haven't had much time to play with it but I love what I've seen.

I added American Crafts alpha thickers, silver stars from Daiso, and duck stationary from Daiso. This is a lift of my newest favorite artist, Nikki Peterson!

A project came up that I decided would be a wonderful experience. For the next 2-3 weeks I will be occupied with it. I apologize if I haven't responded to e-mails or read your blogs lately. Believe me I can't wait to catch up with all of you!

I did take a break long enough to celebrate Kelly's 23rd birthday last night. Happy Birthday Kelly! We had a fun time bowling in Palo Alto. From left to right: Ercilia, Ryan, Kelly, me, Andrew, Tiffany, and Jenna. Caroline and her beau were there too but they left before bowling was over.

Then we went back to Kelly's apartment for ice cream cake and relaxation. Hope everyone has a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Let The Parties Begin!

The EBB Creations December Main Dish Kit is here! I had the pleasure of working with this gorgeous kit! I couldn't love the colors more. I haven't been able to scrap as much as I'd like to with this busy holiday season.

My first layout that I managed to get done is pretty simple. I had way too much fun playing with the stickles in the kit. Yummy!

Products added:
American Crafts Thickers
Silver Stickles
Snowflake stamp from $1 of Michael's
Uni-Ball Singo White Pen
Blue Souffle Pen
Embroidery floss

What have I been up to lately? A lot of working... I went to photo class since our finals are this coming week and I have been neglecting my lovely dark room lab. It was nice to make a few prints. I really must get back out to shoot black and white film and enjoy it while I still have that luxury.

I had a wonderful evening babysitting my sweet neighbors Constance (6) and Audrey (5) on Friday. I brought over some of my surplus crafts and we made Christmas cards for their teachers. I got so inspired by their creativity. We had Hello Dolly playing in the background. Constance and I danced to some of the scenes. I got some of the sweetest drawings from them.

Last night my family went to Lynne's annual Christmas party that we look forward to. Sadly Lynne was sick with the flu and it wasn't the same without her. It was still a beautiful party. Here is my Dad at the table of delicious food:

My favorite part of the whole party is the home made desserts. That chocolate fudge is to die for!

Here are a few of the women at the party. From left to right: Lois, Barbara, Mom, Lesly, and Jenna. Lynne has such incredible decorations all over the house. Notice the miniature house to the right and the wrapped frames above the women.

Dan took this really cool picture of their tree while I was falling asleep on the couch because of a long day of working, then shopping, and finally partying. Hope you are enjoying your weekend!

A few fun things

I've mentioned in the past that my mom is big on garage sales, especially ones with any garden related treasures. While she was looking, she came across these cool treasures. Jenna got the range finder by Minolta on the left. The large box-like camera on the right is a Graflex 4x5 press camera. These were used by the "paparazzi" of the 1930's-1950's. It is missing the grain glass so it isn't working properly.

The Creative Memories stuff was at a garage sale two houses down from us. When I saw the herma dotto adhesive runner I made my mom buy it. So glad I did because I broke my pretty purple one on Tuesday!

Since I was gone to my retreat during Zena's birthday, we celebrated this past Sunday at A.Sabella's in Fisherman's Wharf. It is closing on November 4th, so it was her last visit. Her mother took her there as a child. It was a beautiful restaurant with a delicious meal. This was our view from the table.
Helen (Zena's mom) and Zena with her birthday desserts. Dan and Linda were also there but I didn't get a chance to take lots of photos. My favorite was the Crème brûlée.
On a totally unrelated note, you know you have a Taco Bell fiend in your family when your sister returns home from class at 9:30am stating that Taco Bell didn't open at 9am like they were supposed to.

Tonight I had the wonderful opportunity to chat on EBB with Wendy Anderson of Making Memories. I had so much fun asking her lots of questions about getting into the industry.

Dan and I went out to Chili's again to celebrate and I have had a wonderful night! Here are some of my submissions that I can share:
